Privacy Policy
Your detailed learning progress stays on your device. Usage analytics is optional and starts only with your permission. The app may show one sponsored card on Learn. You can use every lesson without allowing analytics.
1. Who we are
Guitar Fretboard: Learn Notes is provided by Mandelshtam Dmitri Konstantinovich, IP, an individual entrepreneur registered in Russia, trading as BApps Development. The publisher is responsible for the personal information processed for the purposes described here.
Address: 4, kv. 198, ul. Asafieva, St. Petersburg, 194356, Russia. Registration number (OGRNIP): 326784700306449. For privacy requests or support, email bappsdevelopment@gmail.com.
2. Learning and local storage
The app stores your preferences, privacy choice, lesson completion, answers, practice results and unfinished sessions on your device so you can learn and track progress. It does not upload your detailed answer history or synchronize it to an account. No registration is required.
We do not request your contacts, precise location or microphone access. Optional note sounds are generated on your device; we do not record you or your guitar.
3. Optional usage analytics
With your permission, we use Yandex AppMetrica to understand how the app is used and improve lessons. This includes screens and lessons opened, practice activity and summary results, and whether an ad loads or is viewed or tapped. AppMetrica also receives app, device, session and installation information, technical identifiers and your IP address. These identifiers can distinguish installations; the information is not necessarily anonymous. For users from the EU, AppMetrica masks stored IP addresses.
Analytics does not start until you choose Allow statistics in the startup dialog or enable Help improve Fretboard in Settings. Choosing No thanks or closing the dialog leaves it off. We save your choice and the notice you agreed to on your device. We may ask again if the notice changes materially.
You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings → Help improve Fretboard. This stops new analytics reporting without limiting lessons. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing or automatically delete information already sent. We do not upload a retrospective copy of your learning history. AppMetrica advertising-ID and location tracking are disabled in this app.
4. Advertising
One sponsored card may appear on Learn through Yandex Mobile Ads. Lessons, exercises and results have no advertising placements. If an ad is unavailable, no placeholder is shown.
To deliver and measure ads, Yandex may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, app and network information, and ad requests, views and clicks. Advertising is separate from optional AppMetrica analytics. Declining analytics does not turn off ads.
The app does not request advertising consent or treat your analytics choice as advertising consent. Advertising uses the provider’s default regional privacy handling. We do not provide your individual answers, detailed learning history or audio for advertising. This does not mean that every technical identifier is absent.
You can manage advertising identifiers through Android privacy settings where supported and use the privacy control on the ad. Tapping an ad may open another website or app with its own privacy practices. Yandex privacy information: https://yandex.com/legal/confidential/.
5. Why we process information
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for optional analytics is your consent. Necessary local processing supports the learning service you request. We use support correspondence to answer your request and resolve issues, based on providing that service or our legitimate interest in helping users.
Our legitimate interests also include keeping services secure and supporting the app through advertising, only where the law permits processing on that basis. This does not replace consent where consent is legally required. We may process information to comply with legal obligations, including handling privacy requests. The analytics permission is never used as permission for advertising.
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. You are not required to provide analytics information to use the app.
6. Service providers and international processing
Yandex processes analytics and advertising information to provide those services. If you email support, we receive your address, message and attachments, and Google Gmail and your email provider handle the correspondence. We do not sell your detailed learning records.
The publisher operates in Russia. Information may also be processed in other countries where providers operate, including the United States for email services. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where GDPR applies, AppMetrica processing is governed by the Data Processing Agreement incorporated into Yandex’s service terms. It includes standard contractual clauses for applicable transfers: https://yandex.ru/legal/metrica_agreement/en/. You may ask us for details or a copy of the safeguards applicable to your information.
Provider information: https://yandex.com/legal/metrica_termsofuse/ and https://policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Storage, security and deletion
Local progress remains until you clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. The app disables standard Android cloud backup. We cannot restore your local progress from a server.
We retain support correspondence for up to six months after resolving your request, unless a legal obligation or legal claim requires longer retention. Provider records are retained according to the purpose of the service, its applicable settings and legal obligations. AppMetrica information may remain while the analytics service is in use, subject to deletion requests and the provider’s deletion procedures. Advertising records are governed by Yandex’s retention practices. Contact us for a retention or deletion request concerning your information.
Network transmission uses encryption. We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Clearing local storage or withdrawing analytics permission does not automatically erase records already held by providers.
8. Your privacy rights
Where GDPR or other applicable law grants these rights, you may request access to and a copy of your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or transfer of information in a portable format. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing, and withdraw consent at any time.
Send requests to bappsdevelopment@gmail.com and name Guitar Fretboard: Learn Notes. We respond without undue delay, normally within one month where GDPR applies. If a permitted extension is needed, we will explain it within that month. Rights have legal limits; we will explain any refusal. We may need proportionate information to locate an installation or verify a request. Please do not send identity documents or unnecessary sensitive information.
You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including in the EEA country where you live or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. Authority contacts: https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en. You do not need to contact us before making a complaint.
9. Children, external links and this page
The app is a general educational tool and does not ask your age. If you believe information relating to a child has been processed inappropriately, contact us so we can review it and, where appropriate, arrange deletion.
External websites and email services apply their own privacy policies. This public policy page is hosted by Yandex Cloud in Russia; the host receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to serve it. The page contains no analytics scripts, tracking cookies or forms. The same policy is available inside the app without opening a website.
10. Policy updates
We update this policy when our privacy practices change. The effective date and revision identify the current notice. This revision reflects the simplified optional statistics request. The app does not request age confirmation.
